PIERS READ is a freelance LINE PRODUCER working in the UK who lives in London. He has managed some of the most popular and critically acclaimed television productions produced in recent years after starting his career in the industry in 1995. Piers embarked on his Production Manager career in 2003, after working as a unit and location manager and has gained considerable experience of both location and studio shoots across a wide range of programming.

His most notible credits include the Bafta winning PEEP SHOW (Objective Productions), THE INBETWEENERS (Bwark Productions) and his current production, the second series of SORRY I'VE GOT NO HEAD (So Television). Drawing on his knowledge of comedy drama and sitcoms in particular, Piers is also employed as a CONSULTANT to prepare budgets and to devise schedules for new commissions to a specific editorial brief. Most recently, Piers prepared a budget for Left Bank Pictures' SCHOOL OF COMEDY production for E4.

Throughout his career Piers has built strong relationships with key contacts in the industry, ranging from talent agents to an array of suppliers essential to delivering high quality production values. Capitalising on these working relationships, Piers can quickly identify the editorial requirements on any given project, then deploy logistical solutions - using tried and tested methods - in both a cost and time efficient way.  

Piers draws on his contacts to put together highly competant production teams - across all crew positions - whose ability and enthusiasm creates a positive working environment for everyone involved. Piers' key skills include negotiating rates and securing terms contractually, with both crew and talent, cost monitoring, cost reporting, risk assessing and most importantly of all the ability to communicate positively on a personal level with everyone connected to the production.  

Utilising these skills, Piers can also impliment basic and effective infrastructures into new start ups or existing independent production companies, including legal, accounting and I.T solutions at an affordable cost, that will support single or multiple productions key to the growth of a company in it's early development and beyond.
